Ron Thompson - Legendary Blues ArtistRonThompsonPoorHouseGuitar

There aren't many blues musicians who have played with and recorded for legends like Big Mama Thornton, Tina Turner, Bruce Willis, Luther Tucker, Jimmy McCracklin, Pee Wee Crayton, Carla Thomas, Booker T. Jones, Percy Mayfield, Etta James, B.B. King, and Jimmy Reed. Ron Thompson is one of the few who can, and that’s not all!

A legendary rhythm and blues guitarist and master keyboard player Ron Thompson began his his career in the rough and tumble East San Francisco Bay nightclubs and bars in the early ‘70s. For many years he toured coast to coast with John Lee Hooker, Hooker was quoted as saying, "Ron Thompson, he's my main man!"

Ron now plays a Wayde Audio FireCat 50 Icon amp with a pine cabinet and gets complements on the amp most every time he plays.

Check out these video clips taken of Ron at the Poor House Bistro in San Jose where he plays most every Wed. night from 6-9pm. These were taken with a pocket sized camera that also takes HD video, so with the low light the quality is only fair.

Ron plays the slide guitar on his old Strat.

You can hear the great sound of the reverb in this one!

Hershel YatovitzdesksetHY1

Outstanding lead guitar player for the Chris Isaac Band. Hershel has been playing a FireCat 35 "Hershel Yatovitz Signature Model" New FireCat amps will include the tonal addition from Hershel. These include:

A bright switch so you can leave the treble set a bit lower to tame the high ids, while still having lots of highs for that glassy Twin-ish sound.

The Boost mode has move from a Mid boost to a clean boost. Now you can Increase the gain to the output tubes for a clean, or output tube distortion, boost.

Here's what Hershel says about the new amp:

"I've just been playing through the amp some more.  Yesterday the strat, today Les Paul.  Damn, it sounds great!  A sensitive blues wailer for sure.  I found the bright switch with the gain half way up really kicks the overdrive sound into a very expressive full-range territory which is really satisfying, from snarl to smooth with the controls on the guitar.  Freakin' awesome, Wayde, way to go!"

Hershel also has a new CD of his own out!

Laura ChavezLauraChazevhat

Guitarist of Candye Kane's Band owns and plays a FireCat 50 with the Boost Mode option. A great combination. With the amp punched in with the boost mode, the amp gives her sweet Jimmy / Stevie distortion sounds. Laura creates the fantastic sound of signature licks that are her's alone. laralaura2007

Players who've heard and played the amps told us not to put sound bytes on the web because they wouldn't do justice to the unbelievable sound .... We're doing it anyway.
